Find Your Funny: 6-Week Improv Comedy Intensive

From stage presence and finding your voice, to character building and scene-painting, Find Your Funny will turn novice improvsors into experienced players in 6 short weeks!
Inspired by the world's leading schools of comedy, and infused with instructor Brittany Brave's own personal philosophies, Find Your Funny is designed for those looking to step outside of their comfort zone, harness their comedic voice and use improv to strengthen their skills in communication, public speaking, group work, problem-solving, confidence and more. Throughout the six weeks, the course builds a connection between the principles of comedy and students' professional and interpersonal lives.
Find Your Funny begins Tuesday, October 15 from 7-9pm at Studio 150 in midtown Manhattan (150 46th Street). Classes run for 6 consecutive weeks, and each two-hour session covers an entire level of improv comedy curriculum (see breakdown below.) In addition, there will be a show at the end of the program so students can flaunt their newfound skills and an extra jam session for students who missed a class, or just want to get more reps in.

Class dates are as follows:Tuesday, October 15Tuesday, October 22Tuesday, October 29Tuesday, November 5Tuesday, November 12Tuesday, November 19CLASS SHOW: Thursday, November 21 (7-9PM, Contra Studios, FREE)
What if I have to miss a class or 2? No problem!  There is no penalty of late or missed classes. There will be an extra, free jam/workshop to allow students currently enrolled in the course to get those extra reps in and make up missed time time.
Is this introductory?Partially! A portion of Class 1/Level 1 (Tuesday, October 15) will include more beginner/basic exercises, but we quickly move onto larger lessons like scene-building, character divising, public speaking and more. This 6-week course is an intensive, meaning it efficiently covers all the major principles, lessons and exercises and moves through entire levels week to week.
Do I have to do the show? No, you do not! Though, it's encouraged. It's a great experience and fun way to celebrate everything you've worked on in class. It is not open to the public, but you can invite friends and family to cheer you on.
What exactly am I learning?Everything you need to know about long-form improvisational comedy, plus a brief review of short-form improvisation, acting techniques, comedic performance and characters, public speaking tips and more.
Can I request a refund or credit transfer?Sorry, but there are no refunds for the program. If you find you're unable to complete the entire course, a credit transfer can be discussed so that your registration is honored at another date.
